Northern California office manager Mike Garcia managed the planning and outreach for the major movie premiere of “Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius.” The premiere, held at The Crest Theater in Sacramento, was attended by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and former Sen. John Burton, who all spoke at the premiere, as well as the executive producer, producer of the movie, major actors from the movie, and Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., son of the boxing legend Joe Louis and executive director of The First Tee and Senior Vice President of World Golf Foundation.
The successful movie premiere drew coverage from every major local news outlet and statewide media, including KRCA-3, KXTV-10, KOVR-13, KMAX-31’s “Good Evening Sacramento,” FOX 40, Univision-19, ABC-7 (KGO-TV, San Francisco), KFBK AM 1530, Capital Public Radio, KPFA-AM, Los Angeles Times, Daily News (Los Angeles), Orange County Register, San Francisco Chronicle, The Sacramento Bee, ANG Newspapers, Bakersfield Californian, San Gabriel Valley Newspaper Group, Sacramento Business Journal, Sacramento News & Review and several network affiliate TV stations throughout the country and the Golf Channel. It also raised money to benefit The First Tee of Greater Sacramento and the kids who participate in its programs.
